My baby just hit the 2 month mark on August 24th! He had his 2 month appointment and got a slew of vaccines. They also weighed him & remeasured him.
Here is the growth update:
Weight: 10 pounds, 14 ounces
Height: 22 3/4 inches
Head Circumference: 15 inches
Month 2 has been amazing. We began sleeping in our bedroom again! yes! He sleeps with me -every night- in a co-sleeper mini-crib called the Baby Delight Snuggle Nest.
I love it because he is still close by, but protected from my rolling onto him. If he wakes up and makes even the tiniest noises, I hear him and wake up to check him. I feel he is safest this way until I am more calm about the stupid SIDS statistics which scare the living crap out of me and make me insane.
He began smiling at 8 weeks which was such a payoff!!! I know that sounds bad but I seriously learned SO MUCH patience these last 2 months; he smiled ONCE and it was all worth it. I love him so much it hurts my heart. ♥
He began eating a ton more & the ladies haven’t been able to keep up and we have had to supplement more formula…but at least I am still at it and am still trying. My original breastfeeding goal was to get through at least the first 3 months. I am holding steady and have been able to help my supply with Mother’s Milk Tea which is AMAZING. It really really upped my supply, its not crap! Also, my gyno suggested pumping after each feeding to empty the breast which helps jump supply as well. I tried that and it totally works, though takes a lot of actual work… not sure I will be able to keep up on this with the attention that Bronson demands of me. If I can at least get to the 3 month mark then I will have hit my personal goal and can then play it by ear more.
He is holding his head up more now. He is kicking more also and can slowly inch forward (though on his poor face) during tummy time. He hates tummy time. He also seems to really dislike car rides… He does like to stand, with assistance. He also likes to be spoken to -directly- and we get smiles when we talk to him. Smiles come mostly only in the mornings, though, after he is fed, and changed.
He is sleeping much better these days as well. He sleeps for 4 hrs at night, wakes for food, then usually falls back to sleep fairly easily…within 45 mins to an hour. So, I have been able to get enough sleep lately to keep me sane…unlike the first 7 weeks.
Bronson has proven to be a very happy baby. He isn’t upset very often. Mama & Papa are very lucky. ♥
Things I am looking forward to:
- His ability to roll over..
- 6 to 8 hour sleeping (hopefully soon!)
- His ability to use his hands ♥
- His ability to sit upright without noodling or flopping around.
