BrendaSuttonRIPyoungIn Loving Memory of Brenda Joyce (Bowen) Sutton 1954 – 2013 Brenda Joyce (Bowen) Sutton was born in Roswell, NM on Halloween in 1954. Although she never gave up fighting, mom lost her courageous battle with ovarian cancer on January 21, 2013 in Tow, Texas. Mom was a joyous, fun spirited person with a love of life and the people around her. She never stopped being a mom, teacher, friend, and wife. Giving up was never an option for her, which was a significant trait of hers when she faced her battle with cancer. She continued to encourage her fellow cancer fighters just as she had done for her kids and students. Her other passion was NASCAR. You didn’t have to watch any race because she would give play by play with the most current driver points standings. She may be gone physically from this life on earth, but the people that were blessed to have had her in their lives can count on her to be there spiritually. Mom’s survivors include daughter Lacy O’Neal and son-in-law Marcus Van Der Lee of Tuscan, Arizona; sons Caleb and Kelby O’Neal of Bakersfield, California; step-son Zak Sutton of Riverside, California;

brother and sister-in-law Keith and Ana Bowen and brother Roger Dean Bowen, all of Bakersfield California; grandchildren Draven Ocana, Gaerran (Leo), McKaela, and Marc Van Der Lee of Tuscan, Arizona, Collin and Wednesday Jean O’Neal of Bakersfield, California; several nieces, nephews, friends, and mom’s husband Syd of Tow, Texas. Mom is preceded in death by her mom, Edna Jean (Morris) Bowen and dad Lloyd Wallace Bowen; and infant brother, Travis Wayne Bowen.
