Review: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well, that was not as detailed as I hoped it would be. That is probably my only complaint. I loved it. But I wish it had explained in more detail the strange shit going on throughout. For instance, I want to see more of the Infinite Improbability Drive (my fave) & The Heart of Gold and maybe more of the Magrathean Planet Catalog.

I also loved that the Dolphins were trying to warn us… and finally gave up…that their farewell (and the title to book 4) was simply “So long and thanks for all the fish”. The writing in this book was just fantastic. It had a sort of wit you don’t see in novels often. On more than one occasion, I bursted with laughter which is not the greatest thing to let happen when the only reason I get to read is usually when Bronson is sleeping… this book woke him up on more than one occasion.

I am glad there are five books in this trilogy-HA!. I hope their is more delving in the next four books.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, #1) by Douglas Adams

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (Hitchhiker's Guide, #2) by Douglas Adams

Life, the Universe and Everything (Hitchhiker's Guide, #3) by Douglas Adams

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish (Hitchhiker's Guide, #4) by Douglas Adams

Mostly Harmless (Hitchhiker's Guide, #5) by Douglas Adams

I can’t wait to watch this movie now! I heard it was well done.
