Review: You’re Never Weird on the Internet

You're Never Weird on the Internet
You’re Never Weird on the Internet by Felicia Day
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love you, Felicia!

I am a weird internet gamer girl in her mid thirties, too, who totally loves everything that Felicia does and not just cuz she’s a girl. I also love the dudes that keep geeking fun such as Wil Wheaton, James Rolfe, Chris Hardwick, you get the picture…

If you are like me, and love to watch behind the scenes stuff like E True Hollywood Story, or VH1 Behind the Music, and like to get the dish on how something got popular and what led them to fame, this book will totally amuse you.

If you are like me, in the same age group and gender as Felicia Day, and also in to the same interests, then this book might inspire you.

Totally worth my time and money. Codex forever!!!

I got sort of sad during the last few chapters because of the whole stupid gamergate thing (which sucks but I agree totally with her on this, because its hard to be a girl online more now than before, whether gamergate ever had anything to do with chick gamers or not, that is the big picture most people gleam from it… so… yea). Also, the breakdown, was sad. But I understand. I go through bouts of depression regularly (like now) so it is cool to see someone you identify with go through it, and still be super successful and a better person on the other side…. so hence the “inspirational” portion.

(FYI to those who wonder about the 4 stars thing… I only give 5 stars to stuff that make me obsess over it later like Twilight, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, etc. of which the paperback version eventually gets worn down from to much handling… I give 4 stars to everything that I love and thoroughly recommend, but that I doubt I’ll read over again obsessively.)
